50 g – Organic Ceremonial Matcha Tea from Japan
1 piece – Matcha frother
Organic Ceremonial Matcha Tea from Japan is a premium quality green tea powder that has been used in the Japanese traditional tea ceremony for almost a millennium. Ceremonial matcha is made from tea leaves grown in the shade, avoiding direct sunlight, thus promoting higher levels of chlorophyll production. For ceremonial matcha, only the finest and softest tea leaves are plucked and ground to a bright green powder. It is this type of ceremonial matcha that meets EU organic standards.
This ceremonial Matcha is from the Kagoshima region of Japan, the largest organic tea producing region.
Matcha is rich in antioxidants and also contains caffeine, but this is completely different from the caffeine in coffee. Our matcha tastes very pleasant, aromatic and delicate. It can therefore be used as a pure tea, as an energy drink or in the main tea ceremony.
Unlike some other green tea powders made from leaves, including veins and stems, our matcha does not contain these bitter ingredients.
Studies on matcha and its ingredients have revealed a variety of health benefits. The trace elements in matcha powder are thought to support healthy skin, normal iron metabolism, cellular protection against oxidative stress, normal blood pressure, red blood cell and haemoglobin function, and much more.
A traditional frother used in the Japanese tea ceremony for frothing matcha tea. The matcha tea frother is made of high-quality bamboo. It should be remembered that the water in which matcha is prepared must not exceed 80°C.
Making matcha tea:
Japanese ceremonial matcha is traditionally prepared using a bamboo beater and bowl in honour of the traditional tea ceremony.
Preparation: Sift 1-2 teaspoons of matcha into a bowl, add 100 ml of hot (about 80 °C) water and whisk in a zigzag motion until an emerald-coloured foam forms. You can then add more water if you want the matcha to be less strong. You can add plant milk to taste and sweeten it.
For best results, the foamer should be soaked in hot water before use.
