Red lentils are a staple in many cuisines around the world. These lentils are an excellent source of vegetable protein, making them a valuable addition to vegetarian and vegan diets.
Rich in fibre, red lentils stimulate digestion, promote satiety and help regulate blood sugar levels. They are low in fat and calories, while providing a high intake of essential minerals such as iron, potassium and magnesium, which are essential for overall health. Red lentils also contain various B vitamins, including folic acid, which is essential for cell division and DNA formation. They are also versatile in cooking, making them a great ingredient in soups, stews, curries and salads, providing both nutrients and great texture to a wide variety of dishes.
Suitable for children’s meals on their own or mixed with rice and vegetables.
