Garam means warm, hot and spicy, so it could also be called a hot spice mix, but the spice mix is not spicy in taste. Garam Masala, unlike other mixes, tends to be sprinkled on ready-made food, but this does not mean that it cannot be added during cooking.

Recipe – Rice with vegetables
Wash 1 cup of rice, drain.
Heat a little oil or melted butter in a saucepan, add the sliced onion and garlic and fry gently.
Add 2 cups of finely chopped vegetables (peppers, carrots, cauliflower) and stir-fry for 4-5 minutes.
Add 1 teaspoon of garam masala, stir and fry for another minute.
Add the rice and stir again.
Add 2 cups of water, 1 teaspoon of salt, stir again and bring to the boil.
After reducing the heat, cook for another 10 to 15 minutes (depending on the type of rice) until the rice has absorbed all the water and is soft and fluffy.
Garnish with green peas or lemon slices.
